Sacagawea

Toussaint Charbonneu ^

Sacagawea, or "Bird Woman",
was captured by the Hidatsa at
just ten years of age. She was
then taken to back to the
village, where she and another
captured girl were bought by a
French Canadian man called
Toussaint Charbonneau. Later,
Sacagawea and Toussaint got
married, and had a son to be
called Jean Baptiste.
